Position Overview: Accounting Manager / Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Accounting Manager / Bookkeeper to join our team. This role provides direct support to management and offers exposure to all aspects of the real estate industry, including project and asset management, design, and real estate finance. As our company grows, this position has significant potential to evolve into a more senior role.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and income reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records.
  • Maintain QuickBooks records accurately and up-to-date.
  • Oversee vendor payments and ensure accurate tracking of project expenses.

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Assist with budgeting, project cost analysis, and tracking of property performance.
  • Support tax filings and coordinate with external accountants when needed.

Real Estate & Asset Management Support:

  • Track project-related financials, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Assist with managing residential property portfolios, including leasing and rent collection.
  • Monitor insurance compliance, renewals, and claims processing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally within real estate or construction industries.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks required.
  • Strong Excel skills, including knowledge of financial modeling and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in property management or real estate (preferred).
