Job Overview:
Gecko Hospitality is seeking a talented and driven Executive Chef to oversee the back-of-house operations at our renowned upscale steakhouse. This leadership role is ideal for an accomplished culinary professional passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences and driving operational excellence. As Executive Chef, you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure that every dish reflects our commitment to quality, consistency, and the highest brand standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Operational & Culinary Leadership: Manage day-to-day BOH operations, ensuring efficiency and safety and sanitation standards adherence. Oversee food preparation, inventory management, and procurement to minimize waste while maintaining exceptional quality. Develop innovative features and specials that align with the upscale steakhouse identity.
Guest Experience: Collaborate with the FOH team to ensure seamless coordination and service excellence. Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the dining experience. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Financial Management: Work with the GM to manage menu pricing and achieve financial goals. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability?control expenses without compromising on quality.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled kitchen team, fostering a culture of professionalism and growth. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to elevate team performance.
Compliance and Safety: Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and local/state/federal requirements. Ensure a clean, organized kitchen environment and proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef in upscale or fine dining.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training in culinary arts (preferred).
- Creative flair with a passion for crafting innovative dishes.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Expertise in menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
- Prior steakhouse experience is preferred; local market knowledge is a plus.
