About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director for its Legacy of Slavery Initiative. The Executive Director will be instrumental in ensuring that the initiative's actions are in line with the educational mission of the company and are guided by the principles of the Presidential Committee on the Legacy of Slavery. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include managing staff, overseeing the Reparative Grant Program, and implementing administrative systems to support the initiative's operations. The role also involves supporting various advisory committees and executing strategies for the initiative's Harvard-wide implementation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial and operational management, be adept at programmatic oversight, and have a strong commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the initiative's recommendations, developing and managing financial plans, and ensuring the successful operation of the program. This role requires a strong leader with a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' leadership, management, and financial experience. The Executive Director will work closely with the Vice Provost for Special Projects and other key stakeholders to advance the initiative's goals, including building relationships with community organizations and descendant communities.
