Responsibilities include providing management, strategic direction, and fundraising expertise to enhance the organization's impact, ensuring fiscal soundness, and fostering a culture of equity and inclusion. The Executive Director will also be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the Board, staff, and community partners, and will serve as a visible and authentic spokesperson for the organization. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a proven track record in management, problem-solving, and strategic and financial planning, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by urban children and communities. Cultural competency, a commitment to social justice, and experience in community-centered leadership are essential. The role requires a leader with high emotional intelligence, inclusive leadership, and the ability to be a catalyst for change and innovation. The ideal candidate will be an analytical, creative, and collaborative problem solver, with a strong ability to build consensus and drive strategic, equity-centered growth. A history of successful fundraising and resource development, as well as knowledge of public systems and policy, is also necessary.
