About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Pharmacovigilance to join their global team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, execution, and management of pharmacovigilance and risk management activities in compliance with global regulations and industry standards. This role involves leading the operational aspects of pharmacovigilance for both investigational and marketed products, providing oversight to vendors, and ensuring timely report processing, submission, and ongoing signal detection. The Executive Director will also be involved in strategic planning, and pharmacovigilance input for regulatory submissions, and will serve as a key expert in responding to safety questions from regulatory authorities. Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, with a higher degree or MD strongly preferred, and at least 12-15 years' of experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry, including a minimum of 8 years in global pharmacovigilance and drug safety. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, with 6-8 years of experience managing internal teams and external partners. Expertise in global safety regulations, clinical safety assessments, and experience in pharmacovigilance inspections is essential. The role requires a leader who can inspire trust, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and have effective communication and strategic decision-making abilities. The Executive Director will also be expected to actively participate in senior leadership committees and contribute to the company's mission of delivering life-changing therapies to the global rare disease community.
