WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a CDL Licensed Delivery Expert (A license) you will be responsible for transporting and delivering products and materials that make customers' dreams come true! You will be in charge of safely and efficiently transporting lumber and building materials, locally (so you will be home each evening), to the assigned destination using company vehicles and equipment.

THE NITTY GRITTY
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle
    • Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.+
    • Pull a towed weight under 10,000 lbs.+
    • Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to tractor unit
  • Transport lumber and materials from place of origin to assigned destination
  • Pick-up loads and organize lumber in an ordered, logical manner
  • Ensure contents are properly secured inside/on flatbed of truck to prevent breakage or damage
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload lumber and materials at selected destinations
  • Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
  • Assist warehouse staff and customers with loading and unloading processes
  • Map delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed
  • Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the Bistrack purchasing document
  • Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
  • Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.); notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
  • Follows processes to confirm all product is being delivered and follow protocol when an item is missing, damaged, or refused
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
  • Track and report working hours
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions
  • Comply with ICC and DOT regulations; always making safety a priority
WHAT YOU NEED

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skill
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Class A driver's license required.
  • 2+ years proven experience driving a tractor-trailer or large truck preferred
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations
  • Must pass background check and drug test
  • Skilled and confident driver
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
  • Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, bar code scanners, and filing cabinets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a largely labor-intensive role, and qualified candidates will be required to use their arms, hands, legs and back regularly. This role would also require the ability to lift, bend, walk and stand as necessary, as well as lift 80 pounds consistently. May be subject to weather elements from time to time.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some Saturday work will also be required during peak season (May - October).
