Northside Family Dental is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). Responsibilities
- Assist dentist during procedures as needed and other tasks associated with assisting the daily workflow of the office
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
- Prepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures
- Sterilize dental instruments
- Place fillings- use restorative materials to place, sculpt & polish fillings, check the bite occlusion, and make sure that the area flosses well
- Sealants application applying a thin layer of plastic on teeth to seal them and prevent cavities
- Fluoride application applying fluoride gel to the teeth for cavity prevention
- Coronal polishing buffing away small, soft plaque deposits from the teeth for additional cleaning
- Dental charting creating a chart that lists and describes the condition of a patients teeth
- Schedule patient appointments as needed
- Registered as an EFDA by the Ohio State Dental Board
- Received a state certificate in coronal polishing from the Ohio State Board of Dentistry
- Current CPR certification (re-certification provided)
- 2-3 years minimum experience working in a dental practice as an EFDA
- Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
- Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
