Abraxas Academy is located minutes off of Exit 298 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Berks County and provides detention and treatment services for court committed youth.
Salary: $20.00 Hourly

This position performs all the custodial duties associated with the cleanliness of the facility and maintenance of the grounds.
Essential Functions:
- Performs routine custodial duties in the facility such as, cleaning kitchens, restrooms, residential areas, emptying the trash bins, and stocking paper supplies.
- Responsible for floor care throughout the facility. This includes cleaning the carpet and mopping, waxing, and polishing the tile floors.
- Performs minor maintenance tasks as directed.
- Works safely and reports safety violations and fire hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Supervise clients to ensure safety and security of clients and manage client behavior.
- Cuts grass, trims hedges, shovels snow, sweeps and cleans walkways, and keeps the outside premises in orderly condition.
- Moves furniture and equipment, delivers supplies, and run errands.
- Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
- High school diploma or GED; prior experience preferred.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license in employee's state of residence.
- Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
- Physical exam, drug screen, TB test.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
