Position Overview:
Carrollwood Farms is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing Sitework & Grading division. In this crucial role, you'll play a key part in developing our world-class property, operating a variety of equipment to complete large-scale grading and construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, off-road trucks, compactors, large excavators, and dozers.
- Execute large-scale projects such as pond construction, building pad preparation, and land grading.
- Perform precise excavation and hauling of dirt materials.
- Install and maintain erosion control measures to safeguard the environment.
- Lay pipe according to specifications.
- Operate transits for accurate land measurements.
- Conduct regular (at least daily) maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sitework & Grading Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to operate a wide range of equipment, from skid steers to large excavators and dozers.
- Strong understanding of excavation, hauling, grading, and land development principles.
- Experience with erosion control methods and practices is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required. Class A CDL preferred.
- Commitment to safety, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform various physical tasks including bending, lifting, kneeling, and twisting.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain.
