Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic Job at Morgan Asphalt in Magna

We are seeking safe and motivated Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics to join our team. Field Mechanics support field operations by helping to keep Morgan owned equipment in good working order. Performs maintenance or repairs to keep equipment in repair. Duties include welding; repairing electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment. Under limited supervision, performs difficult routine work related to maintenance and repair on construction equipment and tools. Some of the equipment includes excavators, material handlers, front end loaded, shears, skid steers, balers, diesel trucks etc.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and coordinate the scope of work you are responsible for
• Poses & Acquire an in-depth understanding of heavy equipment capabilities & Operating Procedures
• Determine Equipment condition by inspections, & diagnostic testing
• Maintain vehicle appearance and repairing damaged parts
• Maintain vehicle records
• Trouble shoot any issues any equipment is having
• Keep the shop clean and organized
• Enforce Adherence to all health and Safety Standards
• Have a vested interest in the company’s success and strive to better everyone and everything
• Be on time always and ask what more can I help with

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. (Required)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• 3+ years experience as an equipment mechanic (Required)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. (Required)
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time (Required)

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug test. Mechanics must be capable to work all day according to local laws while paying attention to their personal surrounding and changing environments. A pre-employment physical & drug test will be required before employment to ensure physical health. This job can require lifting heavy loads 50lbs+ on rare occasions and is extremely strenuous on the body. Ability to stand up all day, walk across the job site, and be able to use manually operated tools are a requirement.
