Job Description:
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, forklifts, and pay haulers. This role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The mechanic will adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining a compliant and safe work environment. Additionally, the mechanic will complete assigned repairs as designated by the supervisor, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, cranes, forklifts, and pay haulers.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Complete assigned repairs as designated by the supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Train junior mechanics and apprentices on proper maintenance and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hydraulic repair (required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel repair (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
- Reliable, hardworking, and professional work ethic.
- Own tools and ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 70+ pounds, climb heavy equipment safely, bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
