Program Manager - Master of Arts in Catholic Women's & Gender
Studies

The University of St. Thomas Houston is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the Nesti Center for Faith & Culture at our institution as Program Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Master of Arts in Catholic Women's & Gender Studies along with its associated four graduate certificate programs, associated fellows, in person "residency" experience, capstone projects, and faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Program strategy and direction: guide, develop, plan, and implement the MA in Catholic Women's & Gender Studies and associated four graduate certificates.
  • Program marketing and promotion: direct advertising and public relations speaking opportunities to grow the program's reputation and enrollment.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends to ensure that the program remains relevant and competitive.
  • Strategy and Planning: Develop long-term strategies and goals for the program and certificates.
  • Create strategic plans and initiatives to enhance academic excellence, student success, and overall program growth.
  • Budget Management: Manage the program's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. Monitor expenditures and identify areas for cost savings or revenue generation.
  • Faculty and Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, hire, and supervise faculty and staff members for the programs. Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to promote their success and growth.
  • Curriculum Oversight: Develop and evaluate the program's curricula to ensure quality, relevance, and alignment with accreditation standards. Make recommendations for improvements or updates as needed.
  • Student Support: Collaborate with student support services to provide guidance and support to students enrolled in the program. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and personal growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and community partners. Build relationships, facilitate partnerships, and represent the program at university events and functions.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement processes for program assessment and evaluation. Collect and analyze data to measure program outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
Education and Experience Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in program development and management within higher education or similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading and implementing programs.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards, curriculum development, and program evaluation.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends and best practices in higher education.
