Job Description
Purpose
Adjunct Instructor for online courses for the Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision (K-12). Remote position for both synchronous and asynchronous online courses including, but not limited to, Public School Finance, School Law, Foundations of School Administration, K-12 School Administration for Principals, and K-12 Curriculum. Anticipated start date August 2024.
Essential Job Functions
Facilitate and deliver course material to graduate students in an engaging and dynamic online format. Teach one to two courses per semester. Responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience, provide feedback and assessments to students, record keeping of grades, and maintain communication with the Program Coordinator.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with departmental colleagues, provide input and feedback to committees, assist in assessing candidate portfolios for certification through the Missouri Professors of Educational Administration (MPEA).
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics
- Knowledge and skills necessary to prepare individuals to serve as educational leaders in K-12 public school settings.
- Knowledge and skills of K-12 Administration, school management, leadership, curriculum, and teaching.
- Knowledge of the Missouri Standards for Professional Educators (MoSPE) and the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) and National Standards for Professional Educators and Administrators. (preferred)
- Ability to effectively teach adult learners through both synchronous and asynchronous online formats.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both students and colleagues and work virtually to mentor students with a diverse range of experience.
- Experience with Quality Matters standards for online learning and use of Canvas as the Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Required: Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D) in a field of Education/Special Education. Minimum of 3 years of teaching at public K-12 school level and at least 3 years of School Administration experience.
