Title : Business Analyst/ Scrum Master – FX Front Office Technology
Location : Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: 3 months (Possibility of extension)
Project Overview / Contractor's Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to lead and facilitate agile processes across two key technology teams within our FX Front Office technology group. One team is focused on Data Modernization initiatives, while the other is dedicated to upgrading our Position Management System. The idea candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, excellent communication skills to engage with both internal teams and external vendors, and the technical acumen to dive into the details and remove blockers to ensure team success.
Qualifications (must haves):
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a scrum master in a technology driven environment, with experience in the financial services industry
- Ideally an understanding of front office trading (ideally FX) and data management
- Demonstrated ability to work with external vendors and manage complex, multi-team projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage an influence stakeholders at all levels
- Technical proficiency in understanding software development processes
- Experience with agile tools such as ADO and Confluence
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Agile Facilitation:
Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospective, and other agile ceremonies for both teams.
Ensure adherence to agile principles and practices, and act as a coach to continuously improve team performance and efficiency.
Communication & Collaboration:
Serve as a primary point of contact for cross-team communication, ensuring alignment between agile teams, auxiliary groups & enterprise initiatives.
Facilitate communication with external vendors, ensuring that requirements are clearly understood and deliverables met.
Technical Support:
Work closely with the teams to understand the technical nuances of their work and work with enterprise teams to support them or remove blockers impeding progress.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the team’s work aligns with business objectives.
Provide regular updates to leadership on team progress risks and dependencies.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the team’s agility, productivity and overall effectiveness.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
