Position Summary
LightRidge Solutions is a mission-driven space company providing leading payload, electronics and autonomous mission management software primarily to U.S. government agencies and other commercial entities. We are transforming space by bringing innovative and scalable systems that harness leading-edge technologies in optical/laser physics, software algorithms and data processing, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. LightRidge seeks a resourceful Business Development Analyst to assess current and future markets and identify business opportunities to support enterprise corporate growth. This role will be analyze customer markets, conduct competitive intelligence activities, and support Growth and Strategy reporting and capture activities. An ideal candidate should possess sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods that translate market data and intelligence into products supporting campaign and strategy development and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess data from a variety of sources to gain insights into competitive landscape and market trends.
- Manage the LRS customer relationship management (CRM) tool and opportunity pipelines to ensure up-to-date information for reporting
- Analyze competitor pricing and market trends to support Price to Win (PtW) activities.
- Research and identify new opportunities that align with company strategy to add to the pipeline.
- Apply statistical modeling methods to determine the impact of market penetration and new customers on revenue generation and opportunity pipeline health.
- Conduct competitive intelligence to support capture activities and increase win probabilities.
- Support Campaign Planning and Strategy development with market trends and analysis
- Support revenue and backlog forecasting to prepare Growth & Strategy financial forecasts for regularly scheduled reporting.
- Develop dynamic market analysis tools to effectively present changing market needs and trends.
- Prepare and present market analysis findings to executives, the G&S team, and other stakeholders.
- Research organizations and individuals to identify new opportunities, contact potential clients to establish rapport, and arrange meetings.
- Integrate input and contributions from cross-functional teams, collaborating with Business Development, Engineering, and Program Management.
- Help foster a relationship network with government and industry partners and work with members of the military, intelligence, and defense communities to gain key customer insights and build trust.
- Support on-site work, as needed.
- Support travel or off-site work, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field.
- An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred.
- Experience as a Business Analyst and/or Market Analyst in a similar industry.
- Proficiency in MS Word, SharePoint, and other collaborative tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel to include knowledge of creating and using pivot tables and macros.
- Knowledge of and interest in statistical methods and data analysis.
- Experience in analyzing customer markets and preparing reporting artifacts.
- Ability to learn competitive intelligence techniques.
- Interest in developing Market Strategies and/or Campaign Plans.
- Ability to keep abreast of industry trends and develop dynamic data analysis tools.
- Advanced ability to present market analysis reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Strong customer service, prospecting, client relationship management, communications, interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Military Services (i.e., Air Force, Space Force, Army, etc.) and/or Intelligence Community is desired.
- Experience using and/or managing customer relationship management and business opportunity pipeline tool.
