InductiveHealth seeks a well-organized and self-directed Business Analyst to join a collaborative team. As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing disease investigation processes. Your responsibilities will include planning and facilitating requirements gathering meetings, collaborating with project managers to identify technical tasks, and developing testing and implementation plans. Your expertise in performing quality assurance analysis, creating SOP documentation, and fostering communication among external partners will contribute to the success of us reaching our goal to stop disease through technology.

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Plan and facilitate functional requirements gathering meetings
- Work with project managers and other team members to identify and document technical tasks
- Develop testing, validation, and implementation plans and processes
- Perform quality assurance analysis on HL7 messages and documents
- Create and maintain application configuration and standard operational procedure (SOP) documentation
- Enable communication, collaboration, and knowledge transfer between external collaborating partners
- Capture, document, communicate, and manage high-level and in-depth business requirements analysis of data exchange initiatives and technical solutions and document key contributing factors to support decision making on technical solutions
- Conduct gap analyses and landscape analyses to understand current and future state, needs and capabilities, and analyze and document business processes, workflows and use cases for data exchange for public health laboratory and agency trading partners and CDC Program SMEs
- Observe and document current workflows and processes for the creation of business, functional, and technical requirements
- Understand, document, and translate end-user and subject matter expert needs to technical requirements for system designers, developers, and technical architects; Work with technical staff to translate business requirements into functional requirements and specifications
- Provide support for project discovery on informatics modernization efforts (this support may include performing targeted discovery and requirements gathering documentation support for new reporting streams, change requests for existing programs, or new functionality for informatics needs and brainstorming efforts)
- Ensure successful internal collaboration with informatics staff and consultants to coordinate technical assistance across all informatics initiatives and consistently deliver maintainable and scalable data exchange solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business, or relevant field
- Experience gained by working with a SaaS or software development organization as a business analyst
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Visio
- Experience in building requirements, including workflow analysis, data modeling, and associated documentation
- Excellent client relations, presentation, organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Self-directed, highly organized, and a team player with a commitment to the provision of quality customer service
- Ability to communicate with a broad array of individuals from varying technical aptitudes, professional backgrounds, and affiliations
- Ability to creatively solve problems
- Capable of working under tight deadlines and handling multiple projects
- Strong analytical skills and experience with project management
- Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and contribute to the broad range of goals of providing overarching technical assistance initiatives while capitalizing on historical efficiencies and reusability when possible.
- Ability to understand, document, and translate requirements needed for systems designers, developers, and technical architects
- Some experience working in a public health or public health informatics setting
- Experience applying public health knowledge of disease investigation and case management to electronic disease surveillance systems
- Familiarity with Jira, SmartSheet, and/or Confluence
- Familiarity with public health messaging standards such as HL7
- Familiarity with LOINC and SNOMED CT terminology coding
- Masters in public health (MPH), informatics, health information technology, or related field
