Responsibilities and Duties
The Overnight Houseperson of the hotel and restaurant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all guest areas, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities within the establishment during the late night/early morning hours, including tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash bins, and deep cleaning specific areas as needed, ensuring the property is ready for the next day's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning:
- Thoroughly clean all public areas, including floors, furniture, fixtures, mirrors, windows, and bathroom areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum public spaces like hallways, lobbies, dining areas, and stairwells.
- Dusting surfaces throughout the hotel and restaurant.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners in all guest areas and common spaces.
- Wipe down countertops, tables, chairs, and other accessible surfaces.
- Restaurant Cleaning:
- Deep clean kitchen areas including appliances, cooking surfaces, floors, and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize dining tables and chairs.
- Wash and restock dishes, glassware, and utensils.
- Remove food debris and spills from floors and surfaces.
- Bathroom Cleaning:
- Clean and disinfect all restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Refill soap dispensers and toilet paper supplies.
- Report any maintenance issues or damage to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform. Grade school education is preferred.
- Previous hotel-related experience desired.
