Position Summary:

DSJ Global is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, safety, and quality standards. This role involves recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls, with a strong focus on continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products, prioritize process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote safety culture through toolbox talks, safety committee participation, and positive reinforcement programs.
  • Research, design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
  • Lead process improvement projects in support of continuous improvement plans.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including setting goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
  • Design, develop, implement, test, or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for safe manufacturing methods.
  • Perform product/process analysis for safety, quality, and efficiency improvement.
  • Maintain the cost of manufactured products by managing routings in the ERP system.
  • Conduct internal time studies and validate manufactured processes.
  • Support production tooling-related tasks.
  • Determine root causes to eliminate safety and quality issues in the manufacturing process.
  • Develop best practices for manufacturing methods and standardize across all sites.
  • Work closely with quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and equipment.
  • Represent manufacturing and operations on cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in and/or lead insource versus outsource analysis.
  • Create and update work instructions to document manufacturing methods.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Assist in the assessment of vendor/subcontractors and their processes.
  • Participate and actively lead kaizen activities and Gemba walks.
  • Communicate with management on any machine, maintenance, or engineering tasks that are in jeopardy of missing deadlines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2 - 5 years in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Skills:
    • 2D/3D CAD experience
    • Metal machining experience
    • Project management experience
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
    • Self-starter, detail-oriented, and organized
    • Ability to prioritize and balance workloads in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
