Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in the aerospace manufacturing process, focusing on improving production efficiency, quality, and safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste in aerospace production.
- Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain production schedules.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100) and implement quality control measures.
- Assist in the selection and design of tooling, fixtures, and equipment required for manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with design engineers, supply chain, and other departments to ensure manufacturability of new products and modifications to existing designs.
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes and equipment, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies used in aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Six Sigma or lean methodologies.
- Knowledge of aerospace regulations and standards.
