Hexagon Purus is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Hydrogen Mobility and Infrastructure business unit in Westminster, Md. you will get to support technical problem solving and production of composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) primarily used in aerospace, energy, and commercial applications.

Please Note: This position is ON-SITE in Westminster, MD and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced assembly technicians, machinists, and engineers.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment.
  • Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimized production area layouts, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety and equipment/system maintenance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for establishing expanded production processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with assembly processes.
  • Experience in continuous improvement.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Must be United States citizen, lawful permanent resident or otherwise eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing equipment, product testing and facility operational experience.
  • Experience leading technical projects requiring project planning, scheduling, resource identification and financial management.
  • Experience with new product introduction.
  • Experience with applying Lean Six Sigma principles on low volume, high mix processes.
  • Experience with Installation of New Equipment and or Processes
