The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the production of cannabis products. Description:
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the production of cannabis products. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing processes, adhering to quality standards, and following safety protocols, regulations, and laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor cannabis manufacturing equipment and processes, including Hydrocarbon Extraction, Ethanol Extraction, Distillation, and Centrifuges.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Prepare and dispose of Biomass and Biowaste in compliance with regulations and internal SOPs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Clean utensils, vessels, dishes, floors, tables, and all other workspaces daily, before and after use.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Record and maintain accurate production data and logs.
- Assist in the implementation of process improvements.
- Handle and store chemicals safely, following all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and resolve issues.
- Responsible for product processing and formulation, following standardized formulas.
- Perform lab bench work and product filtrations.
- Ensure a safe and quality working environment.
- Train and qualify on the manufacturing processes of the area.
- Start up and shut down processing equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment.
- Properly record data per SOPs and cGMP guidelines.
- Perform Batch Record calculations.
- Work within the team environment and interact with other departments for operational success.
- Accurately weigh, measure, count and label materials and products.
- Use logical methods to solve problems with effective solutions and make quick quality decisions.
- Assist and support in investigations and process improvements.
- Participate in safety programs, committees, or teams.
- Prepare chemical solutions for processes, following standardized formulas.
- Perform duties as assigned by leadership.
- Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the department and business.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in a mechanical or chemistry-related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a cannabis or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of chemical processes and equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of FDA, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive task for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including flammable liquids, gas, dust, dirt, pollen, odors, and irritants.
- Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
- Compensation commensurate with experience.
