The Role

Avnos' Vice President of Manufacturing will lead Avnos from pilot phase to full commercial, high-volume production and distribution. This role will join Avnos' senior leadership team and report directly to the CEO. You will bridge Avnos' direct air capture units from custom built and deployed to mass-manufactured and assembled at scale, globally. The VP of Manufacturing will shepherd the team and product through design for manufacturing, build/buy/partner decisions around low volume manufacturing, through to high-volume, commercial-scale manufacturing operations. You will be instrumental in scaling Avnos' supply chain, production and production strategy, and thereby reducing costs.

You Will

  • Develop and implement the growth of Avnos' technology from custom, demo-scale builds to designed for large-scale, high-volume manufacturing and on-site assembly.
  • Position Avnos to bridge from FOAK to NOAK, maintain its competitive edge, and drive costs out of manufacturing and assembly.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to grow, diversify, and optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Build and manage high-performing teams across multiple functional areas, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and roll out forecasting, planning, and tooling that supports best practices in manufacturing ramp.

You Have

  • 8+ years in senior leadership roles within the "zero-to-one" stages of manufacturing for large-scale, high-volume hardware assets in relevant industries such as automotive, solar, coatings, batteries, renewable infrastructure, and aerospace.
  • A track record of successfully and collaboratively bringing manufacturing initiatives from pilot level to global-scale execution.
  • Proven skills critical to moving a team through the phases manufacturing scale up: from low-volume fabrication and manufacturing to high-volume manufacturing line build out or contract manufacturing; also, ramping up through engineering, design, and production validation to process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • A background in strategic operations management, design for manufacturability and scalability, implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies a plus.
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or relevant Master's) preferred.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity, change management, and creating stability for your team, despite changing priorities and startup pace.
