POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical guidance and develop, evaluate and enhance and plan manufacturing methods and processes. Support product manufacturing issues, process improvement and implementation of production control systems. Oversees, plans and coordinates activities of projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Work with planning and customer regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other applicable departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to determine product specifications and equipment, material and parts meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving design, material or processes.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods, such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability or cost effectiveness.
  • Gather and communicate technical requirements and lead design for manufacturability efforts.
  • Create and maintain bill of material and routing data in the enterprise resource system.
  • Manage and maintain project timelines and new product introductions.
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform detailed labor/material cost calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the manufacturing launch of new product introduction including technical development, project schedules, goal establishment, execution, and results evaluation.
  • Assist and train others in engineering production to support employee development.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Experience manufacturing with exotic metals preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle workflow.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules and apply general rules to specific problems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
