They will be supporting the operations team as a front-line engineer working with assemblers and troubleshooting equipment and process issues. Additionally, this position will manage projects aimed towards designing and developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet daily production schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.What You'll Work OnEngage with Front line engineers supporting operations team to build knowledge for current state operations.Manage projects which include new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions while supporting new product introductions. Provide guidance to other engineers and technicians. Additional responsibilities include:Provide technical mentorship to engineers and techniciansConduct Process FMEAs and Process ValidationsImprove product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing conceptsCoordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery and test equipmentWork with Product Development to ensure Design for ManufacturabilityBe innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal directionHave excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and team leadership skillsHave ability to multitask, priorities their work and make data driven decisionsWork effectively with cross-functional teamsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRINGMechanical, Chemical, Biomedical or any engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience requiredMinimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience. Prior medical device manufacturing engineering experience is preferred, but not required.Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skillsDemonstrated leadership capability in team settingsAbility to lead and motivate peers, drive change and problem solve with creativity.Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.Preferred QualificationsMedical device experience preferred, but not requiredWHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
