Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Quality Inspection:
    • Oversee and inspect the blank preparation and fluting processes to ensure they meet precision and quality standards.
    • Implement robust quality control measures to prevent defects, ensuring product consistency and maintaining high quality.
  • Random Inspections and Audits:
    • Perform random inspections and audits across various production stages to confirm compliance with internal and external quality requirements.
    • Document findings during inspections and collaborate with production teams to promptly address quality issues.
  • Tool Tolerance Assurance:
    • Use precision measuring tools like optical comparators, precision cameras (e.g., Zoller, PG1000), micrometers, calipers, and other equipment to inspect tools and components.
    • Ensure all tools meet specified tolerances, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) Management:
    • Manage and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements such as National Aerospace Standards (NAS) or equivalent standards.
    • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure process adherence and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare and update detailed inspection instructions for various production stages to guide quality control processes.
    • Investigate and document quality issues, performing root cause analysis, and prepare Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports to resolve non-conformances.
  • Scrap Reduction and Process Optimization:
    • Analyze production data to identify scrap causes, working with production teams to implement solutions that reduce waste and optimize efficiency.
    • Partner with production teams to streamline manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
  • Quality Logs and Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date quality logs for tools, equipment, and production processes.
    • Accurately document all inspections, audits, and quality control activities to ensure traceability and accountability.
  • Team Collaboration and Development:
    • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and management teams to align quality objectives with the company's operational goals.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in quality inspection or engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
  • Hands-on experience with National Aerospace Standards (NAS) or equivalent industry standards.
  • Expertise in quality control processes, precision measurement tools, and production workflows.
  • Experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS), conducting internal audits, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Proficiency in preparing inspection instructions, documenting quality issues, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as capability analysis, control charts, and process optimization methods.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with a team-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in industries governed by standards such as NAS, AS9100, or ISO 9001.
  • Expertise in scrap reduction initiatives and process optimization techniques.
  • Competence in performing capability studies and using statistical tools to support quality improvements.
  • Ability to lead quality audits, investigate non-conformances, and manage CAPA reports.
