Job Description
Summary: The Production Supervisor II is a critical role in the manufacturing industry, responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals.
Responsibilities
In general, Superintendent II is assigned to operate a line; however, on a temporary basis (a day or two), the Superintendent II may be assigned to oversee a shift.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Ensure the safety and quality of the products that the line produces.
- To maintain and ensure the safe operation of the line.
- Produce the standard numbers of cases as required.
- Attain the standard yield of the products per company requirements.
- Generate and file all reports that are required by Standard Operation Procedures.
- Ensure that all process control reports are properly completed and filed in a timely manner. If there are abnormal figures in the report, take prompt action to correct the conditions.
- Utilize Superintendent III in the most effective manner to pursue and full fill the responsibilities as assigned.
- Manage the utility operators and machine operators in the most effective manner to pursue and full fill the responsibilities assigned.
Superintendent Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees on the production line. Responsibilities include training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education/Experience
Associates or Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Food Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory experience
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and speak effectively in groups and is capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. He or she must understand units that are used in the plant, gallons, liters, inches, meters, kilograms and pounds and others. Basic computer skills. Hand tools, Tachometer, Thermometer, Caliper, Micrometer, Personal computer workstation, Printer, Telephone, Calculator, Alarm system, Blender machines, Pump, Air conditioner, Exhaust fan, Fire sprinkler system, hand jack, and handheld radio.
Must have the ability to apply common sense to understanding and carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Must have the ability to resolve and deal with simple problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations within the production processing operation. Must be able to complete basic reports and data as required
