Job Description
Job Summary:
The Advanced Manufacturing Technician is responsible for assisting with all Advanced Manufacturing responsibilities while supporting manufacturing, assembly, and facility operations to meet customer requirements and company goals. This position will work directly with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineers completing hands-on assignments during the launch of new projects.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in machine and product design reviews.
- Assemble prototype or development-type components with hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and custom equipment.
- Support the introduction of new products from engineering into manufacturing to include training, product testing, quality, safety, and material flow.
- Create and maintain work instructions, process sheets, and other related documentation for the production line.
- Ensure that equipment meets all applicable industrial standards (e.g., no missing guards).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency improvement).
- Design fixture and/or tooling as needed.
- Maintain 5s methodology and lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist with equipment installations and start-up.
- Setup and maintain manufacturing and assembly equipment.
- Perform tooling changeovers.
- Perform electromechanical technical troubleshooting.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining a preventive maintenance program.
- Assist with maintaining Spare Parts System.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, electrical components, and production processes.
- Use, verify, and support Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure including all applicable de-energization methods.
- Support weekend and off-shift work as required.
- Support the production operator, build or assembly technicians.
- Drive cost reduction and quality improvement programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Follow and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of maintenance/manufacturing experience.
- Previous Experience:
- Electrical – AC/DC, circuits, motors, motor controls, troubleshooting, etc.
- Controls – PLCs, basic ladder logic, troubleshooting. MES-Ignition (preferred).
- Design – SolidWorks/AutoCAD or others.
- Mechanical – Machine shop skills, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to understand engineering documentation and work closely with engineering and other manufacturing areas.
- Ability to work side by side with service providers as required to maintain equipment and facility.
- Tooling knowledge and experience modifying production lines for program launches.
- Robotic knowledge and experience.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as required.
- Ability to follow directions as assigned.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
- Knowledge of quality and environment management systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Plex ERP systems and MES is preferred.

- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.
- Ability to work while in compliance with ergonomic guidelines.
- The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly.
- The ability to perform the job while working at elevated heights (e.g., in an aerial lift or on a roof).
