We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Manufacturing Maintenance Technician role.

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on all relevant machines and posts within the TRACS and Retread facility. In this capacity, maintenance includes cleaning, preventative maintenance, and general up-keep. This position requires compliance with our company tire supplier, OSHA safety standards, and organizational regulations.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day:

  • Monitor the programing system for our company tire supplier to ensure that the machines are operating at peak production and quality levels.
  • Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and running diagnostic tests to avoid production delay.
  • Effectively and efficiently replace various parts in order to restore mechanical functionality and decrease production downtime.
  • Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures for machines to machine operators.
  • Monitor inventory levels for manufacturing equipment and order new parts when necessary.
  • As needed, assist the Retread and or TRACS department with various needs.
  • Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE and demonstrate safety conscious mindset.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance, show up to work on time and in the correct uniform.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures, and values of Snider Fleet Solutions.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence documents
  • This role requires a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed. Weekend work will be required at times, to facilitate repairs while the equipment is off line.
  • Responsible for the electrical, mechanical, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment within the facility.
  • Analytically troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
  • Routinely check the performance of mechanical and electrical equipment, perform assigned PM’s.
  • Maintain maintenance records and inspection reports.
  • Employee must follow all PPE policies, lock out tag out and safety rules.
  • Make necessary equipment repairs during the shift to maintain equipment availability for production.
  • This position may require operating a Forklift, Gantry Crane, Man lift and hoist.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
This position will be based in a commercial tire manufacturing/distribution center at one of our commercial retread and/or TRACS facilities. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, interacts with moving mechanical parts/equipment on a daily basis, and the noise level at the plant is usually moderate to high.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years' experience within the industry or a related management position.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • An electrical certification, mechanical or technical degree with at least five years of experience in Industrial maintenance & repair required.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards.
  • Forklift certification, obtained after employment.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

    • Safety conscious at all times.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.
    • Ability to learn and operate provided service equipment and hand tools.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision or guidance.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
    • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of how mechanical and electrical components aid in troubleshooting and repairing process.
    • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.
    • Ability to read documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals as well as electrical schematic drawings.
    • Ability to read pneumatic schematics to troubleshoot equipment. General Maintenance knowledge of mechanical equipment.
    • Knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC’s, VFD’s and communication systems. Understanding of ladder logic and possess troubleshooting skills with equipment software language. Some experience with our programmable automation system is preferred.
    • Ability to troubleshoot up to 480V A/C motors, contacts and relays, as well as DC Motors/Drives.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
    • Above average knowledge of general manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
    • Welding experience is preferred.
    • Experience with Air Compressor maintenance and repair is a plus.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with Microsoft Office programs and preferably some exposure to PLC software.
    • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with operating personnel in order to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
