We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer with a focus on aerospace casting processes to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in manufacture quality engineering within the aerospace sector, with a strong background in casting processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Must have audit AS 9100 and ISO 9001 experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance processes and systems to ensure that aerospace casting products meet or exceed quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Casting Process Expertise: Utilize your expertise in casting techniques (such as investment casting, sand casting, or die casting) to evaluate and improve the casting processes, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
  • Inspection and Testing: Oversee and conduct inspections, testing, and evaluation of casting components. Develop and validate inspection criteria and standards for casting products. Participate in the MRB (Material Review Board) process.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify and address quality issues related to casting processes. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve non-conformance and prevent recurrence. Strategically reduce non-conformance through corrective and preventative actions. Coordinate and manage the corrective action program.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Support and monitor quality activities to ensure compliance with QMS/BMS and customer requirements. Work closely with suppliers to ensure that casting materials and components meet required quality standards. Conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Read, learn, and apply technical requirements from customer and industry sources. Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and quality metrics. Prepare and present reports on quality performance and improvement initiatives. Prepare technical quality reports including dimensional reports, First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and calibration reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the casting process and overall quality management system. Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Regularly interact with the Quality Inspection team. Collaborate with engineering, production, and design teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. Provide technical support and guidance on quality-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) are a plus.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry with a strong focus on casting processes.
  • Casting Expertise: Demonstrated experience and knowledge in aerospace casting processes, including familiarity with industry standards and specifications.
  • Quality Systems Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality System requirements and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and present information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with advanced PC-based skills (Word, Excell, PowerPoint) quality inspection tools, software, and engineering applications relevant to casting processes. Must have ERP or MRP experience.
