As a Senior Tanks Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible with developing processes for dome, structures, and tank manufacturing for Helios.
Helios is Impulse's new vehicle - a 3rd stage/kick stage. Launching in 2026, it is designed to take satellites & payloads to GEO for 1/3rd of today's current cost.

Responsibilities
- Work with Responsible Engineers to solidify proper manufacturing processes
- Develop & optimize manufacturing processes for tank integration & supporting structures
- Own the entire manufacturing life cycle for assigned projects & hardware
- Work directly with machinists & technicians to produce high-quality hardware
- Work directly with outside vendors
- Update designs, manufacturing processes, and documentation to support continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or related field
- Demonstrated experience of developing manufacturing processes from scratch
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- 6+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Masters' degree in an engineering discipline
- 10+ years' of demonstrated hands-on manufacturing experience within aerospace or related industry working with metallics structures
- Previous experience working within a start-up
- 4+ years' of demonstrated experience with welding (laser, friction stir weld, TIG, etc.)
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
