Scope:The Plant Manager role is responsible for all aspects of production in a manufacturing location and fully understands the importance of everyone in the plant delivering high quality products on-time and at the expected levels of profitability. Driving a culture of continuous improvement utilizing the principles of lean and measuring performance along the way is expected in order to ensure for an ever-increasing performance to the customer.Essential Fuincations: •Working together with the COO in developing and setting the plant strategy for executing the company's goals and objectives that ensure for achieving the planned levels of revenue, profitability, and growth specifically leveraging production, scheduling/planning, process/manufacturing engineering, lean/continuous improvement, capital investing, and total productive maintenance •Working with direct reports to jointly set effective and measurable goals and objectives that drive continuous improvement in safety, on-time delivery, increased quality, labor efficiency/productivity, and cost enhancements•Ensure for the successful achievement of the annual plan in sales (shipment), gross margins, and KPIs•Implement the principles of lean manufacturing with a heavy focus on metric driven performance to ensure for the focus on operational excellence •Ensuring the consistent use of standardized reporting, processes, and programs to guarantee a uniform and consistent way of doing things•Develop, implement, and maintain a standardized Cross Training Program to ensure redundancy in all direct labor positions •Develop, implement, and maintain a Total Productive Maintenance system that utilizes a single software product solution for tracking and ensuring accurate maintenance and record keeping for optimal OEE•Develop and implement operational goals that meet or exceed the planned safety, quality, lead-time, delivery, and cost objectives•Manage and maintain capital expenditures and ensure a proper ROI is realized•Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives that improve operational systems and product quality through development and successful execution of specific and discrete productivity and other operational objectives•Review financial reporting systems that track and explain gross margin variances on a monthly basis and implement corrective actions based on those findings•Manage inventory levels of finished goods requirements to achieve optimum levels of products to sufficiently meet or exceed the planned delivery of service levels to the customers•Develop employee systems that open the channels of communication to enhance employee relations a •Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and strict adherence to them and other governmental regulations•Ensure all employees are strictly adhering to the standards set forth in the employee handbook including following the disciplinary action procedures, adhering to the proper hiring/terminating standards, filling out and providing the proper documentation in all aspects of employee relations, timely execution of annual employee appraisals including proper budgeting of pay raises, and overseeing that the proper levels of direct labor, indirect labor, and temporary labor as was approved in the annual budget is being maintainedRequirementsRequired Skill Sets: Experience, Education, Training:•Educational Requirements: 4-year technical or business degree, equivalent work experience•Skill Requirements: Heavy Lean experienced, Six Sigma certified a plus•Language: Fluent and well-spoken, excellent writing skills in English•10+ years in progressively responsible operations/production roles•Minimum 5 years of cost center responsibility •Good computer systems skills which include: MS-Office: Outlook, Excel, Word ERP/MRP experienced •Strong organizational skills•Strong focus on 'Doing it right'•High passion, energy, drive, and intelligence•High levels of initiative and curiosityStrong sense of urgency
