About This Clinical Educator Position
HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Clinical Educator. The role of Clinical Educator combines clinical expertise and a passion for teaching to educate, train, and develop clinical staff across the HopeHealth affiliates. The person in this position is responsible for the design, delivery, evaluation and revision of educational materials, experiences, and programs for clinical staff. Educational activities will be grounded in regulatory/accreditation requirements and best clinical and technical practices to support competency, compliance, and mission-based performance at all levels of the organization. The Clinical Educator is responsible for the preparation and ongoing mentoring of clinical staff and serves as an educational resource for the leadership team to support organizational excellence.
Responsibilities of the Clinical Educator:
- Assess and observe learning and development needs within the organization.
- Plan, organize, participate in the development of programs to meet identified education needs of clinical staff.
- Assure staff competency using an effective collaborative model for staff education. Maintain documentation of completion and competency achieved.
- Develop and deliver training and education both formal and informal including classroom, virtual, field, skills fairs, self-study, and e-learning.
- Develop and utilize outcome assessments to enhance educational programs and materials.
- Network with colleagues at healthcare partners, educational institutions, and professional associations for sharing contemporary educational trends and practices.
- Assist with development of new and specialized training programs for innovative clinical initiatives to support organizational growth.
- Integrate findings from quality and performance improvement activities into educational programming.
- Maintain necessary clinical expertise and any required certifications.
- Serve as a role model, coach, and mentor to clinical staff.
- Serve as liaison between HopeHealth and colleges and universities. Act as point of contact for clinical internships and student experiences.
Qualification for Clinical Educator:
- Achieve and maintain Hospice and Palliative certification or relevant specialty clinical certification
- Practice in accordance with professional practice standards
- Maintain clinical competence
- Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge and experience in the principles of adult learning
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines
- Embrace personal professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred, or the equivalent relevant experience in clinical practice.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hospice, and/or palliative clinical experience required; or related relevant experience.
- Education, training, teaching experience preferred.
- Active Rhode Island and Massachusetts license in Nursing. Valid driver's license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Knowledge of RELIAS or other Learning Management System is preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records desirable.
- Hospice experience preferred
