Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, a 192-bed Skilled Nursing & Rehab Facility located in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, has an opening for an Assistant Director of Nursing. We are looking for someone clinically skilled and personable to join and help lead our nursing team. The Assistant Director of Nursing, RN responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the evaluation and implementation of all long-term and sub-acute nursing care rendered within the facility, overseeing nursing staffing to ensure quality care is provided and acting as the DNS-designee in the absence of the DNS. We are looking for a candidate with supervisory or managerial experience in a hospital or nursing home setting and wound care certification is a plus. Must be current in NYS RN Licensure. - Assistant Director of Nursing, RN plans and maintains staffing pattern for quality patient care.
- Assistant Director of Nursing, RN promotes an environment where Nursing Staff can work cooperatively, achieving individual, nursing unit and facility goals.
- Assistant Director of Nursing, RN, acts as a liaison between nursing staff and Administration interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
- Assistant Director of Nursing, RN participates in monthly nursing management meetings.
- Assistant Director of Nursing, RN maintains ultimate responsibility for planning, supervising and evaluating goals and objectives on unit.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures that facilitate the operation of the Nursing Department.
- Reviews and revises as necessary nursing policy procedures for the department and nursing units. Identifies the need for new policies and procedures.
- Assists nursing staff in meeting DOH standards.
- Consults with nursing staff in regard to clinical issues pertaining to resident care.
- Develops and maintains the Infection Control program for the facility.
- Current & good standing Registered Nurse, RN License in State of New York
- Bachelor's in Nursing, BSN, preferred.
- Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer’s patients is desirable
- Progressive experience in management within a geriatric skilled nursing setting.
- Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident
- Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, & sometimes challenging residents
- Have patience & willingness to assist any residents & co-workers
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, & organization skills
- Able to work well under pressure, flexible, & will work harmoniously with all staff
