Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Minimum Education:

Associate's degree required

Bachelor's degree preferred

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) may be obtained within 45 days of hire.

Licenses:

Current license as an RN in the state of KY or compact state.
New graduate may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.

Required Skills:

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
Plans and documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
