We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Triage Nurse to join our dynamic cardiology team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients experiencing cardiac symptoms, providing both clinical advice and care coordination. You will assess patients' symptoms, prioritize urgency, and ensure they receive the appropriate care in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment: Triage patient inquiries, assess symptoms, and provide clinical advice based on protocols. Escalate urgent cases to appropriate providers or emergency services.
  2. Care Coordination: Schedule appointments and referrals for cardiology consultations, diagnostic tests, and follow-up care.
  3. Education: Educate patients and families about their cardiac condition, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and continuity of care.
  5. Documentation: Accurately document patient interactions, symptoms, and care plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  6. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient needs, ensuring they understand their condition and are connected to the necessary resources.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Education: RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
  2. Licensure: Active RN license in Iowa.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in cardiology, emergency medicine, or a related field.
  4. Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle urgent situations with confidence.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and triage protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in a cardiology or cardiovascular care setting.
  2. Knowledge of cardiac medications, diagnostic procedures, and care management.
