Position Summary:
The Women's Health RN provides specialized nursing care to women throughout their reproductive life cycle, including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and gynecological care. The registered nurse works closely with Ob/Gyn physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure the health and well-being of patients in a non-hospital setting. This role includes managing routine and high-risk cases, handling abnormal results, performing triage, completing induction of labor and scheduled cesarean section forms, and engaging in quality improvement and compliance tasks. Additionally, the nurse will manage STI reporting, FMLA paperwork, and support various clinical activities.
Essential Duties & Functions:
- This role involves traveling between multiple women's health clinic sites providing comprehensive nursing care to women, managing both routine and high-risk cases.
- Assess, plan, and implement patient care plans based on individual needs.
- Review and manage abnormal test results, notifying patients and coordinating follow-up care.
- Provide detailed explanations of abnormal results and guide patients on next steps.
- Perform triage assessments for urgent or emergent concerns at multiple locations, prioritizing care based on patient needs and clinical urgency.
- Recognize and respond to obstetric and gynecological emergencies with appropriate provider notification.
- Coordinate with the obstetric team to ensure all pre-procedure requirements are met.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments as ordered by physicians and advanced practice providers, ensuring consistency across sites.
- Assist with gynecological exams, prenatal care, and office-based procedures.
- Educate patients on self-care practices, preventive health measures, contraception methods, reproductive health, pregnancy, post-partum care, menstrual health, and other gynecological issues.
- Coordinate the workflow of medical assistants to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Facilitate communication between medical assistants and other healthcare team members to promote collaborative patient care.
- Manage patient scheduling, follow-ups, and coordination of care across different sites.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to clinic policies and procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of medical supplies and equipment at all locations.
- Travel between various clinic sites as required to ensure coverage and consistency of care.
- Participate in patient education programs and community outreach as needed.
- Maintain proper tracking and reporting of OB patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Years of Experience (minimum requirements)
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or community health setting
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
