Job Description
This role's primary function is to supervise a team of indexing specialists who are performing indexing of retrieved medical records to the appropriate member/provider combination, ensuring we are in compliance with medical standards.
Responsibilities:
• Review and process all incoming files including medical records, invoices, and other miscellaneous documents.
• Associate each document to the appropriate document type and member/provider combination.
• Maintain a high level of productivity in a high production environment and adhere to measured productivity requirements.
• Assure HIPAA standards and confidentiality of protected health information is upheld.
• Report any critical incidents immediately.
• Maintain an accuracy rating of 98% by correctly associating documents to the appropriate classification and member/provider combination.
• Remain attentive and effectively work with all available inventory to meet productivity expectations.
• Work the required 40 hours weekly and be open to overtime opportunities based on demand.
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare documentation and compliance• Proficiency in reviewing and managing invoices
• Familiarity with time management applications such as 'About Time'
• Strong internet navigation and research skills
• Understanding of medical coverage and related processes
• Experience with scanning and digitizing documents
• Proven track record of maintaining high productivity levels
• Proficiency in medical coding practices
• Strict adherence to confidentiality norms and practices
• Ability to create charts and graphs for data representation
• Experience in managing and maintaining medical records
• Familiarity with component selection in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
• Experience with HealthCare.gov and its functionalities
• Openness to offshore assignments and overtime work
• Skills in transcription of medical records and other documents
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Experience in indexing and organizing healthcare data
• Familiarity with production environment in the healthcare industry
• Basic understanding of Ethernet technology
• Knowledge of TRICARE health program for military personnel
• Experience in handling and reading microfilm records.
