Job Description
We are seeking an AP/Payroll Supervisor to join our team in the industry at our workplace in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be overseeing payroll processing and accounts payable activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and execute bi-weekly payroll processing for a large number of employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform thorough audits of timesheets to detect missed punches, duplicate payments, and other timesheet errors.
• Import necessary files into the payroll system and enter various earnings and deductions into pending pay.
• Calculate retroactive payroll payments and set up wage attachments such as tax levies, state/city liens, child support orders, and garnishment orders.
• Balance key totals to supporting documentation or reconciling reports to ensure the accuracy of payroll.
• Make necessary adjustments to timesheets to correct any errors.
• Ensure that all payroll processing activities are in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
• Manage accounts payable activities in addition to payroll responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate records of all payroll and accounts payable activities.
• Resolve any inquiries or issues related to payroll and accounts payable.
This role requires a combination of supervisory experience and technical skills in payroll and accounts payable processing. It would be beneficial to have a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is highly preferred
• Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll processes
• Ability to Process Payroll efficiently and accurately
• Strong understanding and experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lead and supervise a team effectively
• Proficiency in using payroll and accounting software, UKG experience is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards
• Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
