Location: Auburn, NY

UNY Maintenance and Housekeeping

Starting Salary: $20.60 hourly - $24.15 hourly based on Education and Relevant Experience

About the Program and Position:

Cayuga Centers is actively seeking staff members for the Maintenance Worker Position. This position is on our Maintenance & Housekeeping team, a support department that serves the administrative, site-based, home and community-based, and foster care program locations throughout our Upstate NY regions. We serve our programs by providing them with the facilities and space they need to work with children and families. This MAKES A DIFFERENCE - when our program staff have what they need to serve families, the quality of their care improves. The role you play in supporting the mission is imperative - providing timely maintenance, cleaning, and other support impacts the services offered and the well-being of children, youth, individuals, and families.

How you get to use your skills…

  • Complete minor repairs and work orders as assigned

  • On larger projects, assist the Construction Specialist with the planning and completion of rehabs and new construction

  • Complete painting projects as assigned

  • Use initiative to maintain the attractive appearance of all agency buildings and grounds in the Upstate New York area

  • Performs regular, general maintenance of agency buildings, grounds, and vehicles (e.g. snow removal, lawn duties, vehicle care) as per the assigned schedule

  • Performs regular and additional cleaning responsibilities

  • Travels to other agency sites in Upstate New York

  • Completes the documentation of work orders and other records and logs as instructed

  • Communicates status of projects to appropriate staff

  • Participates in the maintenance on-call as assigned

  • Required to report to work as needed

  • Participates in agency and other training opportunities as assigned and/or offered

  • Complies with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access to Protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities effectively and efficiently. No access will be permitted unnecessarily. The essential job functions as described, herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information.

  • Performs other duties as requested by immediate supervisor or leadership

Schedule:

Sunday - Off

Monday - 7am-3pm

Tuesday - 7am-3pm

Wednesday - 7am-3pm

Thursday - 7am-3pm

Friday - 7am-3pm

Saturday - Off



  • High school diploma required

  • Demonstrated skills in cleaning, lawn and grounds care, painting, and minor repair

  • Valid NYS Driver's License

  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and operate a motor vehicle with passengers for at least four consecutive hours

  • Ability to participate in physical activities including running, jumping, bending, and twisting

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to walk up and down stairs repeatedly

  • Ability to climb and operate ladders
