SAP Java Application Developer Hybrid - 8 to 10 days a month, St. Paul, MN Job Description: Position is for a Java Application Developer who will be working on a project rewriting our SAP data flows in and out of the ERP, will be part of the SAP Financial Product Ecosystem (FPE) team. FPE is our core accounting processes and systems that integrate with accounting and financial reporting for our organization. Modernizing the FPE is the largest implementation of an FPE in client's history and there are over 30 individuals currently working on this initiative. This individual will be part of the team accountable to achieve exceptional service functions including configuration, root cause identification, and solution recommendation. Working closely with teammates and business partners to fully understand the user functionality, pain points, and areas of improvements within our applications. Document current to future state SAP processes and role mapping of functionalities. Looking for a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. A candidate in this position is also expected to dig in and help out in whatever way the team needs. A strong ability and comfort zone to do non-development activities is required. Requires resource to work in a hybrid environment which currently means working 8-10 days in a month at our facility and being available for occasional off-hour on-call support. Position Summary: Client is running a best-in-class technology portfolio, and this role plays an integral part in shaping the client's processes, standards, best practices, and strategies. The right candidate will have strong functional, analytical, and business process skills, be able to maintain positive relationships with business and vendor stakeholders and be responsible for efficient issue resolution and escalation to maintain investment platform functionality. This role is part of a fast-paced agile team relied upon for delivering technology solutions for clients' FPE. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: • Collaborate with Product Owners, System Architect, and business partners to identify and elicit technology needs and work with the scrum team on identifying solutions. • Help Product Owner document technology needs and acceptance criteria in user story format. • Be an advocate for quality and testing on the agile team, ensuring content is testable. • Develop and maintain technical and end user-oriented documentation of system and business processes. • Grow and maintain knowledge of products, plans, business processes, and system applications. • Build and maintain business knowledge and strong relationships with team members, business users, other teams, auditors, and vendors to help navigate through problems, decisions, and related implications. • Assist with batch process resolution and escalations for the finance ecosystem to include setting up new jobs, updating jobs, and providing troubleshooting / root cause analysis. Requirements: • 3-6 years of experience in financial systems like SAP. • A software development background, focused on product/application configuration and debugging. • Proficient in one of these or similar: Java, Python, REST, and/or SOAP • Knowledge of and ability to develop in one of these or similar: AWS, ABAP, HANA SDI, and/or Informatica. • Self-motivated and independent with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for work. • Solid creative problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. • Ability to build strong relationships with team members, business users, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors to help navigate through problems, decisions, and related implications. • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with experience working both independently, and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information and facilitate understanding of system capabilities and limitations to non-technical users. • Strategic thinker, analytical, and results driven. • Proficient in agile methods. • Works with minimal direction, flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and schedules, handle multiple issues simultaneously, and to manage stressful situations. • Computer Science, Finance, and/or Business degrees. • Understands batch scheduling, auditing, & financial/operational reporting. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
