McKesson Corporation . What does the Internal Communications Director do? The Internal Communications Director is responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement, enhance organizational culture, and promote effective information sharing within the organization. This position requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly in the field of oncology. Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy to effectively communicate organizational goals, initiatives, and updates to employees. Manage direct reports, as well as external agencies and vendors. Create and manage communication channels and platforms, including email newsletters, intranet sites, town halls, and other internal events. Craft and distribute regular communications, including newsletters, memos, and announcements. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure consistent and timely messaging throughout the organization. Develop and maintain an end-to-end communications calendar to plan and coordinate internal communications activities. Write, edit, and proofread communication materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Provide strategic guidance and support to leadership in crafting messages for town halls and employee meetings. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys and recognition programs. Measure and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication efforts using key performance indicators (KPIs). Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in internal communications. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Proven experience (15+ years) in internal communications, with experience managing a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. Experience in managing communication channels and platforms. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and project management skills. Knowledge of employee engagement strategies and best practices.
