Job Summary Serve as senior manager in delivery of support to a large organizational unit's IT systems, technology and requirements or manage a program having critical impact campus-wide. Leads multiple groups in defining and responding to IT needs. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: campus, unit and OIT management and staff, vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: campus, unit management and staff. This position will supervise: management and staff of multiple IT support teams. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Formulate and administer policies and programs related to information technology support. Job Duty 2 - Identify broad objectives, directs significant programs and manage significant human and financial resources with a high degree of autonomy in meeting specific IT needs. Job Duty 3 - Assume accountability for and stewardship of campus resources consistent with goals and objectives. Job Duty 4 - Oversee development of systems and procedures to protect institutional assets. Job Duty 5 - Participates with other senior managers in establishing strategic and operational plans, approaches and objectives. Job Duty 6 - Makes decisions on system/infrastructure matters and ensures achievement of objectives. Job Duty 7 - Manage human and IT resources and activities across a diverse set of users and functional areas. Job Duty 8 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience Eight years of job related experience. Must be able to support systems and data with CUI, NIST 800-171, DFARS compliance requirements. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires advanced knowledge of and skills in the development, installation and maintenance of IT hardware and software typically of a high degree of complexity and/or having campus-wide scope and impact. Additionally, skills in technical management, project management, strategy development, organization, communications and customer service are required. The units supported primarily report to the Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research (VPIR) and the Chief Research Operations Officer (CROO), and includes Interdisciplinary Research Institutes (IRI), strategic initiatives, affiliate organizations, and groups and facilities responsible for the conduct of research and research service delivery. This role will lead a team of IT professionals directly and distributed throughout the supported units, and will be responsible for: Understanding and meeting the needs of the supported units Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of IT services required Maintaining the IT Service Delivery Team and services Coordinating with campus partners and service delivery units Contributing to shared approaches and standard operating procedures Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and services Ensuring compliance with Georgia Tech's IT policies and standards The position reports to the Executive Director of Research Computing and Data within the CROO Research Operations and Infrastructure (ROI) office.
