Job title: Tableau Engineer Location: Los Angeles, CA hybrid 2 times a week on-site in Downtown Los Angeles. Duration: 7 months Key Responsibilities: Dashboard & Report Development: Design and develop Tableau dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations to meet business needs. Work with business users to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights through dynamic and interactive Tableau visualizations. Integrate Snowflake data sources into Tableau, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient reporting. Data Integration & ETL: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Snowflake into Tableau, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy. Work closely with data engineering teams to set up efficient pipelines for data ingestion into Snowflake and ensure the data is in the correct format for reporting. Optimize data workflows and queries to minimize latency and maximize performance. Performance Optimization: Ensure Tableau workbooks and dashboards are optimized for performance, especially when working with large datasets stored in Snowflake. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to slow-loading dashboards or poor performance, utilizing Snowflake's capabilities to improve query efficiency and reduce processing times. Data Modeling & Snowflake Architecture: Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement efficient Snowflake data models that support Tableau visualizations. Develop and maintain Snowflake schemas (star and snowflake) to support various reporting and analytical needs. Write optimized SQL queries within Snowflake to retrieve the necessary data for Tableau reports. Collaboration with Business Teams: Act as a liaison between business users, analysts, and technical teams to understand data requirements and translate them into Tableau dashboards and visualizations. Provide training and support to business users on how to interact with Tableau dashboards and extract meaningful insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between data sources, Tableau reports, and business objectives. Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain clear documentation of Tableau dashboards, Snowflake data sources, and ETL processes. Regularly update and enhance existing Tableau workbooks to reflect new data, metrics, or changing business needs. Monitor and manage Tableau Server/Online environments for performance, availability, and security.
