Job Description The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art data center facilities at scale and at pace. This team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure the successful execution of complex data center construction projects. They bring a wealth of expertise in project management, technical design, and on-site construction, ensuring that our data centers meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to facilitate the construction process for multiple data centers projects under both colocation providers control as well as projects that are under Oracle’s control. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are managed effectively to meet schedule, quality, and design requirements. Career Level - IC4 Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: The primary function of this role is to understand, track, and facilitate the process for prompt decisions and actions across projects stakeholders both internally and externally to assure decisions are made for the projects to stay on track for execution. Project Oversight in the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Risk Evaluation: Independently analyze projects to evaluate risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation, and inform the business of potential impacts. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards. Base Building and MEP Infrastructure: Focus for this role is heavily on the base building and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) infrastructure portions of the project. Tenant Fit-Out Integration: Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit-out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts. Coordinate with the DCIB teams executing the tenant fit-out data hall white space projects separately but in conjunction with the base building infrastructure projects. Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards. Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing evaluation input for colocation providers to drive continuous improvement. Regular Site Visits: Conduct regular project visits to ensure schedule adherence, coordination, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. Required Skills Base Building Construction Expertise: Extensive knowledge of base building data center construction, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing. Project Management: Proven experience in managing the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment. Strategic Planning: Expertise in developing and implementing long-term strategies and establishing program-level requirements for construction projects. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies and sustainability. Project Execution: Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Leadership: Ability to lead under pressure, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals. Budget Management: Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources. Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs. Vendor Management: Extensive experience in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance in all construction activities. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
