Job Description
TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join the team at our Downtown Tacoma office.
In this position you will:
be responsible for reviewing all requests for pricing and determining appropriate rate levels based on corporate costs and existing rate levels by communicating with both internal and external customers. This position is an integral part of the department that is responsible for all topline revenue for the company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Account management, including producing contract proposals, negotiating contracts with customers and/or the Sales Department, producing rate comparisons, determining rate levels, and reviewing contracts.
- Seeking input from and providing input to the Business Development Department.
- Preparing and updating standard rate comparisons, as well as preparing new comparisons and recommendations on individual accounts.
- Analyze and recommend rate levels for customers.
- Participate in the publication of Surface Transportation Board tariffs.
- Participate in producing Flash reports and yield projections, as well as other requested reports.
- Member of a team that provides transactional-level (by move, by customer, by equipment size/type, by market segment, etc.) business analytics involving revenue and expense to multiple departments.
- Enter all contractual information into back-office-software system and ensure its accuracy.
- Function in helpdesk role for Customer Service Department regarding daily invoice production.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve booking /invoicing issues immediately due to the process demands of billing-to-cash system.
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications) –
- Bachelor’s degree required (general business, economics, or related field preferred).
- Related analytical experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, Skills and Abilities –
- Good analytical skills.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good math skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Must be self-motivated and flexible.
- Some travel may be required.
- Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel).

The salary range is $52,900 - $92,600 with an anticipated hiring range of $55,000 - $70,000. Pay will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location and specific job duties.
