GCP Security Engineer

Job Summary The GCP Security Engineer will focus on integrating security practices into the DevOps pipeline, enhancing the security posture of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. The engineer will collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure design, deployment, and management of cloud-native applications and infrastructure, specializing in SecDevOps. Key Responsibilities • Integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline, enhancing overall GCP security posture • Collaborate with development and operations teams to secure cloud-native applications and infrastructure • Design and implement security solutions within GCP to support secure deployments • Monitor and manage security controls for cloud applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards • Identify and address security vulnerabilities, proactively implementing risk mitigation strategies • Support incident response efforts related to the GCP environment Required Qualifications • Proven experience in GCP security, with a focus on DevOps integration • Strong understanding of SecDevOps principles and best practices • Experience with GCP security tools and services (e.g., Cloud IAM, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Security Scanner) • Familiarity with cloud-native security practices and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager) • Proficiency in scripting or programming for automation (e.g., Python, Shell) Preferred Qualifications • GCP certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and security automation within DevOps workflows • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)| Location: NYC, NY or Alpharetta, GA Education: Bachelors Degree
