The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking Experienced Software Engineers in El Segundo, California, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, Fairfax, Virginia, or Huntington Beach, California . The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. You will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Advanced Training & Simulation, Production Analytics, Autonomy, Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensing, Cybersecurity, Disruptive Computing & Networks, and High-Fidelity Digital Twin & Virtualization, and much more. Our software products help solve Boeing's most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. Projects can range from new cyber security solutions for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircraft, creating virtual avionics development test environments across several commercial, defense, satellite, and space platforms, satellite payload technologies, and autonomy. Position Responsibilities: Designs, develops, tests, and maintains software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products​Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products ​Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis ​Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks Executes and documents software research and development projects Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions ​​Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 3 years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) Experience with C++, Python, or other programming languages Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, Jira, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne Experience with Agile development methodologies Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly 5 years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc). Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Travel: Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%. Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
