Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Security Engineer opportunity available based in Charleston, SC, with an opportunity to travel to locations such as Germany and Bahrain. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Qualified candidates will have design engineering experience as well as implementing systems including Physical and Logical Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Networking Monitoring, CCTV, and Perimeter Protection. You will participate in Engineering Quality Assurance and Quality Control peer reviews and constant capabilities development to ensure implementation of quality systems. In addition, you will coordinate with other disciplines and interface directly with the project manager and the customer.
- Performs site surveys and data analysis, systems verification and validation testing including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Pre-Installation and Test Check-Out (PITCO), and System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT).
- Designing security system architecture for ACS, IDS, CCTV, LAN and WAN topologies for security systems including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Provide engineering escalation support for project and operational environments as well as Certification and Accreditation of networks and platforms to DISA standards.
- Identifying and resolving field device and system application and interoperability issues.
- Supporting proposal efforts by researching and recommending quality equipment, systems, and standards.
Required QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
- 3-5+ years of experience in design engineering role, consulting engineering preferred, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of ESS.
- 3+ years of experience conducting onsite installations at DOD facilities preferred.
- Bachelors Degree
- A Combination of Vendor Certifications: Lenel, AMAG, Milestone Video, Pelco, MDI, Verint, DMP, Honeywell Vindicator, Software House, Southwest Microwave, Axis.
- DoD Approved Baseline IAT Certifications: Security+, Network+, CISSP
- Requires an understanding and working knowledge of industry standards including sections of NEC, NFPA 101, ICD 705, NISPOM, Navy SIPH, DISA APL, etc.
- Developing comprehensive bill of materials from design and bid documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and applications.
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Active Passport.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, both CONUS and OCONUS. OCONUS locations include:
- Germany
- Bahrain
- In some occasions, overnight travel may be required.

Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. - Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
