Summit Santa Ana currently has an open position for a Customer Service Representative (1st shift). This position is unique as it will support both the Santa Ana location as well as the Hollister location. Position will support two offices. Summit Interconnect is a manufacturer of advanced technology printed circuit boards with a specific focus on complex rigid and rigid-flex product with unique expertise in RF/Microwave applications.

Under general supervision, this position interfaces between the customer, the salesperson, and the company and acts as the company’s primary point of contact for assigned customers. This position services the customer directly and through Summit salespeople to provide order status updates and quotes, prepares pre-quote information for pricing, and ensures that quotes are sent back to the customer and salesperson promptly. This position must be aware of customer deadlines and manage work to meet the deadlines or request extra time before the deadline. This position enters customer orders into the company’s system and sends order confirmations to the customer and salesperson. Order status updates are provided as requested by the customer.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the candidate must have two (2) years’ experience in the printed circuit board industry or appropriate professional work experience outside the PCB industry, a high school education, and good written and communication skills. This includes good grammar and punctuation in all written communication. The candidate must also be detail-oriented and able to review customer terms, order requirements, and document customer requirements in the company’s system. The individual must possess a professional demeanor and be able to complete tasks under time pressure and in some instances, respond to and support unhappy customers. Since most of the information provided by customers will be subject to non-disclosure agreements, the individual must have the ability to keep all job-related information confidential.

Responsibilities:

  • Review customer-supplied documentation including purchase orders, quality documents, and fabrication drawings.
  • Complete pre-quote worksheets from customer supplied data.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales to confirm acceptability of customer orders based on the lead time, pricing, and manufacturability.
  • Send completed quotes to customer and salesperson.
  • Send order confirmation and order status updates to customer and salesperson.
  • Communicate with the customer regarding any changes to order schedules.
  • Comply with ITAR procedures.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and management.
  • Proficient in the company’s systems including ERP, CRM and shop floor management.
  • Familiarity of industry standards and the appropriate application
  • Familiarity with and ability to work with personal computers and learn new systems.

Authorities:

  • Accept customer information for quotes and orders.
  • Recommend pricing and lead time based on experience with customer.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in the printed circuit industry or appropriate professional work experience outside the industry.

Pay Range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 hour based on experience.
