Job Description
**Pay** $20-$28/Hour (Depending on experience)
Job DescriptionSet up, adjust, and operate machine tools determining speeds and feeds with the ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories. Prepare and clean product surfaces as necessary for the desired operation. Sequence automatic machine operations and define setup requirements, select cutting tools, and program proper feeds and speeds to successfully machine parts. Identify optimal manufacturing processes based on part configuration and batch size.
Responsibilities- Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools
- Determine speeds and feeds
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories
- Prepare and clean product surfaces for operations
- Sequence automatic machine operations
- Define setup requirements
- Select cutting tools and program feeds and speeds
- Identify optimal manufacturing processes based on part configuration and batch size
- Working knowledge of metal fabrication/forming practices
- Knowledge of operating procedures for machine center, laser, drill/mill, lathe, brake press, and turret
- Ability to read and understand job specifications, shop drawings, and blueprints
- Ability to perform basic math computations associated with metal fabrication
- Knowledge of properties of structural metal and related items
- Mathematical aptitude
- Proficient in editing programs and adjusting offsets
- Experience inspecting own parts using various dimensional tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gages
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

The shop is located in Brookings, SD, where machining and stamping are performed. It is a smaller shop with around 90 people in the plant. They also have a sister plant in St. Paul where the majority of laser and brake press operations are conducted.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
